Starting on May 7th, Virginia travelers will need a Real ID driver's license to board domestic flights, enter military bases, or access federal buildings. The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has added appointments and extended hours to accommodate the demand. To apply for a Real ID, travelers must bring specific documents, including proof of identity, residency, legal presence, and social security number, along with a fee of $10 plus the cost of the new ID. WFXR reports that DMV has issued over 1.4 million Real IDs since October 2018.
