An Inspector General's report released yesterday detailed how General Registrar Keith Balmer spent public money. He allegedly cost the city over 200-thousand dollars by entering a contract last year without following the proper protocols. Balmer is also accused of using a city vehicle for personal use, overspending on office furniture and violating the city's policy on travel and meal reimbursement. Mayor Levar Stoney says Balmer's actions are simply unacceptable, and he's calling on the Electoral Board to take appropriate action immediately. Balmer tells 12 On Your Side he'll respond today to the allegations.
