(Richmond, VA) -- The City of Richmond has restored its fluoride system at the Water Treatment Plant after it was damaged in back in January. Katie Gray reports.Preview: SCRIPT:
The Plant experienced a spike in fluoride levels in April. Officials say the system is now fully operational, with fluoride being added to drinking water and entering the distribution system. The city received a Notice of Alleged Violation from the Virginia Department of Health for operating in violation of the Public Water Supplies law during the fluoride level spike in April. WRIC reports that Richmond's Department of Public Utilities has taken corrective actions and is working with regional partners to ensure the safety of the drinking water supply.
