(Fairfax County, VA) -- Virginia State Police say they've handed out nearly 35-thousand tickets to unsafe drivers in Fairfax County. Rocio Rivera has details.Preview: The initiative, Road Shark, is a campaign VSP says is to correct bad driving behavior. Last year, they handed out more than 24-thousand tickets. This year, nearly 35-thousand. The five week campaign gave tickets to speeders, distracted drivers, and drivers who make improper lane changes. VSP says the department is strategic in where they try to nab people, and target roads that are crash-prone or where high speeds are either reported or observed. And they say their plan is working, as both crashes and drunk driving arrests are both down this year. I'm RR.
