The Roanoke Police Department is investigating a homicide that happend on February 19 in the 2100 block of Yellow Mountain Road SE. Officials say a woman was found with significant injuries and pronounced dead at the scene. A male suspect has been taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing. WFXR reports that authorities have closed 22nd Street SE for the investigation and are urging anyone with information to come forward. This is the first homicide in Roanoke this year.
