(Norfolk, VA) -- A new lab focused on preservation and resiliancy is open in Norfolk. Rocio Rivera has more.Preview: The Ryan Resilience Lab is now open. The $8 million dollar project is thanks to the Elizabeth River Project and will help residents create ways to protect themselves from rising sea levels. Elizabeth River Project executive director, Marjorie Mayfield Jackson, tells WAVY the lab was strategically built near Knitting Mill Creek in Norfolk. That area is experiencing the fastest rising sea levels on the east coast. Jackson says the Lab has a living shoreline with native plants and wetlands and will help slow erosion and bring back wildlife. I'm RR.
