Virginia Beach city officials revealed that the Something in the Water team reached out to the city after a notice of default in January to discuss the possibility of holding the festival in April. 10 On Your Side reports the music festival, led by Pharrell Williams, faced delays and missed deadlines, prompting City Council to send a termination notice. Despite the team's interest in moving forward with the April date, officials deemed it too late to plan and execute the event safely. While leaving open the possibility of hosting the festival in the future, Mayor Bobby Dyer says it is important to stick with the council's decision.
