During a pro-forma session on election night, Representative Bob Good attempted to table the Social Security Fairness Act by unanimous consent but the move was deemed out of step with House operations. The bill, co-sponsored by members of both parties, aims to repeal provisions that reduce Social Security benefits for individuals who receive other taxpayer-funded retirement benefits. Despite the attempt to kill the bill, the Cardinal News reports it is scheduled for consideration by the House under suspension of the rules.
