Suffolk students at Kings Fork High School participated in Dominion Energy's 'Solar for Kids' program, which aims to educate students about renewable energy. The partnership with the National Energy Education Development allows students to gain hands-on experience with solar panels. The solar array at the school can power 18 desktop computers or charge over 100 cell phones. The initiative is part of Dominion Energy's commitment to renewable energy and their goal to be emissions-free by 2050. The program received federal funding, and the Virginia Department of Energy plans to expand solar initiatives for residential use.
