This move comes after the Trump Administration's Executive Order threatening to cut federal education funding for schools that do not comply. The resolution was adopted in a 6-3 vote, with concerns raised about the potential consequences for student clubs and activities. Superintendent Don Robertson said it wasn't a decision made likely, noting the risk of being fired if the school board investigates non-compliance. WAVY reports that Schools have until April 11th to decide whether to meet the certification deadline outlined in the executive order.
