The University of Virginia is working with the U.S. government to identify and combat threats to national security. The university held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the National Security Data and Policy Institute on Friday. Officials say UVA's expertise in data science and artificial intelligence can help the U.S. overcome strategic threats from hostile governments such as China and North Korea. The institute is funded through a 20-million-dollar contract with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
