(Franklin County, VA) -- Several Virginians are still in the dark after a winter storm took out the power earlier this week. In Franklin County, Redwood United Methodist Church is hosting a warming shelter, with church member Cindy Rose took advantage of the offer after losing power Monday morning.

Pastor Brian Buckles says they are open every day from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

He adds that they could use some donated hand and foot warmers and they are always grateful for donations of food or money. The Franklin County Family YMCA is also open to non-members to get warmed up, charge your electronics, and grab a hot shower.
