A sentencing memo submitted last week by the U.S. Attorney's Office asks for a 136-month sentence for Zachary Alam of Centreville. Investigators say Alam helped rioters use bike racks to scale the walls of the Capitol on January 6th, then broke glass windows while attempting to break through the doors of the House Speaker's Lobby. Alam was convicted by a federal jury last September on charges that include assault, resisting or impeding officers, civil disorder and destruction of government property. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for next week.
