Court records show Amari Pollard, who received a 25-year sentence for the shooting last year, attempted to withdraw his guilty plea but was denied by a judge. Pollard's appeal is based on four core mistakes he believes the trial court made. WRIC reports the appellate court will review the trial proceedings, and if mistakes are found, a new trial could be ordered. Both the Attorney General's Office and Pollard's new attorney declined to comment on the ongoing case.
