(Chesterfield County, VA) -- A historic racetrack in Virginia is coming back to life. Rocio Rivera has details.Preview: The Southside Speedway is set to be revitalized after being closed for nearly five years. It originally opened in 1959, but shut down after the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Chesterfield County has secured a 20-year lease with the Economic Development Authority for the track. And while upgrades and renovations will help get the track back up and running, the size of the track, which is a third of a mile long, will stay the same. The track is also expected to boost jobs for local business and bring back a Friday night rush for visitors. I'm RR.
