Timmy and Jimmy Simpkins, who live next to the property, tell WDBJ they are worried about their children's safety and have collected nearly 100 signatures on a petition opposing the development. At a recent public hearing, residents expressed concerns about sewage and runoff issues as well as citing potential disruptions like increased traffic, noise, and changes to the community's culture. The property owner assured those in attendance of the importance of safety and being a good neighbor. The Radford City Council did not vote on the special use permit for the duplex and will further investigate the community's concerns.
