The department plans to address the issue of speeding and distracted drivers and promote safer streets during an upcoming Speed Management Symposium on May 22nd. 8News reports the event will feature programs like the Safety Camera Program, which targeted 13 school zones in 2024. Attendees can expect presentations on Vision Zero, Richmond Connects, and roadway safety projects, as well as the opportunity to connect with city departments and non-profit organizations.
