Officials say it happened between 2017 and 2024 and the amount of city funds used is over $839-thousand dollars. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports Reginald Thomas, a former management analyst, used his city credit card and purchase orders to make the purchases at RPM Supply Co., LLC - a company he runs with his wife. City officials say they are investigating the matter, and it is unclear if any of the transactions were legitimate. The city has suspended most active credit cards in response to the incident, with only essential purchases allowed. Former Mayor Levar Stoney had previously defended the credit card program, but several discrepancies in spending during his administration have come to light.
