Governor Glenn Youngkin celebrated the groundbreaking of a new undersea cable manufacturing factory, which will serve national and global wind energy projects. South Korean company LS Cable & System officials say the $700 million dollar facility, set to open by 2028, will employ 330 people and become the state's tallest building, signaling a significant investment in the region's renewable energy industry. The project aims to position Hampton Roads as a hub for the U.S. wind industry as Dominion Energy expands its offshore wind project.
