The U.S. Geological Survey says the two-point-eight magnitude earthquake happened around 5:30 p.m. The epicenter was located near the Henrico County community of Wyndham, about ten miles northwest of Glen Allen. Governor Youngkin released a statement on social media last night saying state teams were contacting local governments to determine possible damage.
A southwest Virginia man has been arrested on charges connected to the 2021 riot at the U.S. Capitol. Forty-year-old Nathan Bordeaux of Floyd County was taken into custody yesterday. Investigators say Bordeaux was spotted in surveillance footage fighting with police officers and entering the Capitol during the January 6th riot. He's facing multiple misdemeanor charges, including disorderly and disruptive conduct and committing an act of physical violence.
