Richmond continues to provide safe and clean water. That's what city officials said yesterday in an update on the water treatment plant. The city says it has three main finish water pumps and two auxiliary pumps running. One main finish pump failed Tuesday night. Combined, the pumps are producing 68 million gallons of water a day. The city says that volume is greater than the average water consumption for this time of year. Also, the city's reservoir is at a normal level.  
 
 
Two people are displaced after a fire in Chesterfield County. It happened yesterday afternoon at a home on Cicero Parkway. It took firefighters about half-an-hour to put out the fire. No one was hurt, but the Red Cross is helping two residents who are now displaced. Investigators believe the fire was cooking-related.  
 
The VMI Corps of Cadets and the Liberty University marching band will take part in next week's inaugural parade in Washington, DC. VMI announced last week that the Corps of Cadets had been selected to march from a record number of applicants. Cadets have marched in 15 previous inaugural parades dating back to 1909.
