Police find credit card skimmers at Walmarts in central Virginia. Charley O'Brian with details.....Preview: Police say two people are dead after being hit by a train in Roanoke. Investigators say a group of people was on and near the tracks in the 700 block of Drew Avenue yesterday afternoon. An elderly woman and a boy were unable to move in time and were killed. Another boy was injured in a fall but was not hit by the train. The incident is currently under investigation.
Governor Youngkin is praising the University of Virginia Board of Visitors for voting to end its diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. The board voted Friday to close the office that oversees those programs. The governor released a statement calling the decision "common sense" and saying that DEI initiatives create illegal discrimination. The decision follows recent executive orders from the Trump Administration demanding an end to DEI programs in education and government.
Researchers at the University of Virginia say school absences may help identify children who suffer from chronic gastrointestinal disorders. Those types of illnesses usually can't be identified through lab tests, leading to a delayed diagnosis and long periods of missed classes.
