Authorits say the woman was stopped at the Norfolk International Airport security checkpoint after TSA officers intercepted a loaded handgun in her carry-on items. The gun, loaded with six bullets, was confiscated by Norfolk Airport Authority Police and the case was forwarded for possible criminal prosecution. TSA officials remind travelers to properly transport firearms by ensuring they are unloaded, packed in a locked hard-sided case, and declared at the airline check-in counter. 10 On your side reports that in 2024, Norfolk TSA officers intercepted a record 34 guns at the checkpoint.
