Democrats unveiled their budget plan yesterday, proposing a 200-dollar rebate for individuals and a 400-dollar rebate for joint filers. They also want to raise the state's standard tax deduction, though not as much as suggested by Governor Glenn Youngkin. The Democrats' plan also proposes a one-thousand-dollar bonus for Virginia teachers. The governor released a statement last night thanking Democrats for their work and saying he would review the proposal.
