It could almost be hard to believe that one of the most popular nationally celebrated holidays in the States wasn't officially established until 1863, when President Abraham Lincoln designated the final Thursday of November to be "Thanksgiving," with the tradition said to have been modeled on a the 1621 "first celebration" according to the History Channel reports. This year, the feast falling later than usuall with only two day left in the month.
