Investigators say a man from Colorado has died after being electrocuted at Smith Mountain Lake. The Bedford County Sheriff's Office says the man jumped into the lake from a private dock early yesterday. Two others jumped in after he showed signs of distress and felt an electric shock. The man died after being transported to the hospital. The water was tested and an electric current was found around the dock. The sheriff's office says the man and his family were visiting friends at the lake.

Averett University and Danville Community College will share a new eight-million-dollar building at the airport. Part of the space will house Averett's Aeronautics Program, while the rest will be used for DCC's aviation maintenance program. Bids for site preparation for the new building are due next week.
