The Virginia Creeper Trail from Abingdon to Damascus has reopened after historic flooding from Hurricane Helene. However, the section from Damascus to Whitetop remains closed for restoration efforts. WJHL reports bike outfitters are offering shuttle services for the open section, and parking is available at various trailheads. Local businesses are also working to reopen, and the Appalachian Trail remains closed north and south of Damascus.
