The suit was filed in July by Ellenor Zinski, who was dismissed by the university last year. She claims her termination is a violation of the U.S. Civil Rights Act because it was based solely on her gender identity. She's asking for 300-thousand dollars in damages. The university asked the court to dismiss the claim earlier this month, saying federal law allows religious institutions to make employment decisions that are consistent with their religious doctrine.
