A York County judge has dismissed a lawsuit challenging transgender policies adopted by the Virginia Department of Education. The ACLU of Virginia filed the lawsuit on behalf of a York County student who allegedly faced discrimination in her school. The judge dismissed the case on Monday after finding the lawsuit is barred by both the statute of limitations and sovereign immunity. Governor Youngkin and Attorney General Jason Miyeres both celebrated the decision as a win for ensuring privacy, dignity and respect for all students.
