The university leaders have proposed various pricing options, including an increase by up to 3.5%, for the board of visitors to review, including the possibility of keeping tuition flat or reducing it. The decision on tuition rates will be made in May or June after the state budget is finalized. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports VCU also plans to increase fees and housing costs, invest in new programs and faculty, and address challenges in enrollment and federal funding. Despite rising costs, the university is focusing on affordability initiatives and retention strategies to support students.
