Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced over $2 billion dollars awarded to nearly 45 thousand farmers around the country.Preview: National Association of Black Farmers founder John Boyd tells the Richmond Free Press the payouts are a “huge victory” for the organization and himself. Third-generation Dinwiddie farmer John Bonner also received money after he says he was denied farm loans throughout the years. Vilsack also announced changes to the FSA Farm Loan Program and a new racial equity committee. The New York Post reports some farmers call the USDA the "last plantation" because of discrimination and these changes could be attempt by Democrats to buy the black farmer vote.
