The Staunton [[stan-ton]] City Council unanimously passed a mass rezoning of 55 Uniontown properties after public comment. Residents expressed frustration over building limitations and zoning issues that have prevented them from making improvements to their homes. The News Leader reports new zoning from Industrial to Traditional Residential, as part of the Uniontown Action Plan, aims to address racial discrimination and unnecessary restrictions in the neighborhood. The rezoning allows for more flexibility in property use and aims to provide long-overdue benefits to homeowners in Uniontown.
