(Hampton Roads, VA) -- Jobs for federal workers continue to get cut. Rocio Rivera has more on the latest firing of nearly 1-thousand VA employees.Preview: The Department of Veterans Affairs received the news Friday that jobs would be cut in what the VA is calling a cost cutting move. They say it will save the department more than $98 million dollars a year. The layoffs include non-union probationary employees that have been on the job for less than a year in a current competitive service appointment or less than two in an expected service appointment. Senator Kaine released a message to the workers affected, saying to keep doing what you're doing. Kaine reiterated the VA's work is valued and he'll do everything he can to clear hurdles and keep the VA operating. The layoffs could affect more than 9 million vets in the state of Virginia. I'm RR.
