Reports say Esteban Santillan pleaded guilty to grand larceny but will not go to jail. If he completes 100 hours of community service, a mental health evaluation, and stays on good behavior for a year, the charge will be reduced to petit larceny. WAVY reports the children who were victims of the theft that went viral have forgiven Santillan and their parents hope to teach their children about compassion and second chances. Despite the incident, they believe there are still good people in the world.
