Data from the Virginia Department of Elections shows near five-thousand Virginians registered to vote on Monday and Tuesday. That's a 38-percent increase from the same period the week before. Political analysts say the numbers could reflect a surge in Democratic voters excited by the exit of President Joe Biden and his endorsement of Harris as a candidate. But they also say the surge could reflect Republican concern over Harris' entry into the presidential race.
