Hanover residents experienced water outages and boil water advisories due to the plant failure. Richmond Times and Dipatch report that Consultants pointi out the need for quicker notification of outages to allow for better response strategies, and recommended mandatory water restrictions in similar situations. Hanover is exploring options to reduce reliance on Richmond as its primary water provider in the future.
