Suntan lotion, charged cell phones and life jackets are essential items this summer. Many will be trying to beat the heat by heading to the James River, and Henrico County Assistant Fire Chief Mark Cumashot [[KOO-muh-shot]] has some advice. He says a cell phone can help rescuers pinpoint your location in an emergency. Cumashot adds the best protection is a life jacket, but make sure it's in good shape before heading to wherever you're going. He tells CBS 6 this is your first and maybe final layer of protection to ensure you enjoy today and stick around to enjoy tomorrow.
