Among the budget amendments the governor sent to the General Assembly this week is a request to put 300-million additional dollars in the state's "rainy day" fund. Youngkin says the state needs to be prepared for federal worker layoffs and other cuts, warning that significant change doesn't come about without some short-term uncertainty. Democratic House Speaker Don Scott criticized Youngkin's stance, saying the governor should be focused on Virginians rather than supporting the actions of President Trump and Elon Musk.
