Governor Glenn Youngkin issued a statement after the ruling saying, "This is a victory for commonsense and election fairness." A lawsuit from Virginia Coalition for Immigrants Rights and other groups delayed the purge that was part of an executive order from Youngkin issued in August. In his statement, Younkin added, "Clean voter rolls are one important part of a comprehensive approach we are taking to ensure the fairness of our elections".
