The Ravens have started making cuts as they finalize their 53-man roster before today's 4 p.m. deadline. They released wide receiver Russell Gage. They also waived wide receiver Sean Ryan, tight end Mike Rigerman, tight end Riley Sharp, offensive tackle Darrell Simpson, defensive end Tramel Walthour and punter Jack Browning. The Washington Commanders will also cut their roster to 53 men today.
The Nationals are giving a highly-touted prospect a shot in the big leagues. The team called up outfield prospect Dylan Crews from Triple-A Rochester. The 22-year-old is rated as the third-best prospect overall and top prospect in the Nationals' organization by MLB.com. In 100 games this season between Double-A Harrisburg and Rochester, Crews has hit .270 with 13 homers, 68 RBI and 25 steals.
