The Birds acquired pitcher Luis F. Castillo from the Mariners for cash considerations. Castillo has a 7.71 ERA in two starts for Seattle this season, his first big league action since 2022.
The Nationals allowed eight runs in the sixth inning in their 8-6 loss to the Guardians. Washington has the day off before hosting the Cardinals on Sunday.
In the Womens NBA, the Mystics wrapped up their exhibition slate. Washington lost to the Atlanta Dream 80-70 at home. The Mystics will open the regular season May 16 at home against Atlanta.
