The Washington Wizards lost 139-130 to the San Antonio Spurs at the Frost Bank Center. Washington is 2-and-8 and has not beat any team other than the Atlanta Hawks this season. The Wizards will play the Hawks tomorrow in Atlanta.
The college hoops season continues. On the men's side, UMBC hosts Coppin State tonight. On the women's side, Virginia Tech crushed UNC Asheville 85-62 to improve to 2-and-1, Virginia smacked Radford 83-41 to move to 2-and-1 and Number 14 Maryland beat Syracuse 84-73 to improve to 4-and-0. Towson plays Morgan State on the road tonight.
The Baltimore Orioles have found their next pitching coach. According to MLB.com, the O's are promoting Cody Asche [[ ASH-ee ]] to hitting coach after he spent the last two seasons as their offensive strategy coach.
