The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation has added 13 plant species to the Virginia Invasive Plant Species List. An invasive species is a non-native species of plant that could cause harm to natural resources or humans. The DCR says these plants are a threat to Virginia's ecosystems in marshes, wetlands, and forests. More than 100 different species are currently on the list.
Love to Share Foundation America, in collaboration with the Central Virginia Waste Management Authority, is hosting a recycling workshop called “Rethink Our Waste” at the Glen Allen Library on October 14. 6 News Richmond reports that the workshop aims to educate young people about the importance of recycling, waste reduction, and sustainable alternatives.
