An investigation is underway after a body was found in Henrico County. VSP says the body was found yesterday afternoon near the I-295 and 895 interchange in the grass about 300 feet from the shoulder. The person has not been identified, and there's no word on how they died.
The Virginia State Police says six people died as a result of crashes during the July 4th holiday weekend. The agency says four drivers, a passenger and a pedestrian died on state roads between Wednesday and Sunday. Nearly six-thousand citations were issued during the holiday, including over four-thousand for speeding and nearly two-thousand for reckless driving. There were also 95 arrests for driving under the influence.
