The U.S. Supreme Court will not hear a lawsuit challenging the seizure of land in southwest Virginia for the Mountain Valley Pipeline. Landowners in Franklin, Montgomery and Roanoke counties sued the pipeline in 2020 over the use of eminent domain to take their property. The case reached the Supreme Court once and was returned to a lower court. A second appeal to the Supreme Court was turned down on Monday. The owners of the pipeline hope to begin pumping natural gas through the structure in the next few weeks.
