The Federal Emergency Management Agency is opening a disaster recovery center in southwest Virginia today. The location in the Damascus Shopping Center will be open Monday through Saturday to answer questions and help residents fill out applications for disaster assistance. Representatives of the Small Business Administration will also be available to answer questions. Area residents who are eligible for federal help have until December 2nd to apply for assistance.
Thousands of people in Richmond are taking advantage of early voting. Elections officials report over five-thousand people have voted early so far. Richmond General Registrar Keith Balmer tells 12 On Your Side this is a sign people are more comfortable voting in person now that the pandemic is over. Early voting runs through November 2nd.
