A man has died after a crash in Bath County. Investigators with the Virginia State Police say 39-year-old Chase Killingsworth of Craigsville was driving east on Route 39 on Wednesday afternoon when his pickup ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and hit a tree. Killingsworth was pronounced dead at the scene. Killingsworth was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The state police say speed was also a factor in the crash.
The FBI is warning online holiday shoppers to beware of scam websites. The bureau put out a news release this week ahead of Black Friday and Cyber Monday for shoppers who use Chrome, Safari and Edge browsers, warning of online security risks. The warning includes a checklist of how not to get scammed, like avoiding websites that don't have a padlock in the address bar, meaning the website is not secure. The experts also say don't buy from a website until you have researched it and read reviews on it, and to make sure the reviews aren't fake.
