The General Assembly is sending Governor Youngkin a bill that would remove state tax breaks for groups that honor the Confederacy. The state Senate passed House Bill 1699 Friday. The bill would end real estate and property tax breaks for groups like the Daughters of the Confederacy and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. The governor vetoed a similar bill last year.
All of the plane and helicopter wreckage has been removed from the Potomac River following this month's midair collision near Washington, DC. On Saturday, the National Transportation Safety Board released a statement saying all of the "major pieces" from both aircraft have been moved to a secure facility for further examination.
