Authorities are investigating a small plane crash at the Lynchburg Regional Airport. Officials say the single-engine aircraft made a belly landing at the airport yesterday evening. No injuries were reported and no fuel was released from the aircraft. Multiple agencies are investigating, including the state police, the FAA and the NTSB.
President Trump is cracking down on "DEI" in American education with new executive orders. Trump took several executive actions Wednesday regarding education, including reversing efforts to promote DEI and a return to merit-focused attention in the classroom. As well, Trump put limits on organizations that evaluate colleges for accreditation, including third-party groups denying accreditation due to DEI measures, after he says they have "abused their authority". Public universities must also now disclose any foreign funding they receive in the form of donations and there is new guidance for K-through-12 schools to ensure that school discipline policies are based on objective behavior and not DEI.
