Multiple agencies are investigating after a seaplane crashed into the Potomac River on Saturday. The crash was reported in the afternoon near a naval support facility in Dahlgren. The plane reportedly caught fire during takeoff. The pilot was taken to the hospital for treatment. No one else was on the plane.
Virginia's General Assembly passed a record-sealing law in 2021, allowing individuals with past convictions to have their misdemeanor or low-level felony convictions hidden from public view starting July 1st of 2026. The new law does not require convicted individuals to disclose the information. WTOP reports some records will be automatically sealed, including certain misdemeanors and marijuana possession offenses.
